Hobson Easyseat II

Do's any use a Hobson Easyseat II,
Which is the replacement for the plain old Hobson Easyseat - in case
you didn't know.
For the last few years I've used a Spongywonder seat because for
medical reasons I cant use an ordinary seat (that explanation will
hopefully negate suggestions that I use something more conventional)
but its getting a bit battered now is a bit out of shape and needs
replacing. The Spongywonder hasn't been developed at all so I've been
looking at the alternatives.

Which I've narrowed down to the Spiderflex and the Easyseat II
http://www.spiderflex.com/
http://www.hobsonseats.com/prod_easyii.htm

The spiderflex looks ok clean & simple but is a bit more expensive and
I'd have to order it from the US (I'm in the UK)
The Easyseat II I can get over here but I'm slightly concerned by the
(few) reviews I've found, they suggest that the built in adjustment
might be a problem and also that it's noisy tending to creak which
might indicate future stress failure. The Easyseat might be cheaper and
easier to purchase but its complexity might make it short lived.

So I'm hoping that someone can give some useful info for which of
course I'll be most grateful

I bought an Ergo "The Seat" on a whim at a bike trade show a few years
ago:

http://www.thecomfortseat.com/

I tried it on several different bikes before finding one for which it
wasn't just horrible.  To me it feels more or less like propping my
butt on a handrail.  On the plus side, it has never made any noise,
absorbed water, faded, spontaneously combusted, or caused me to be
fired from my job.

The bike on which I now have "The Seat" mounted is a cargo sidecar.
Whenever I hit a bump with the sidecar wheel, or roll off a curb, the
seat jerks violently sideways and back again.  When I use a normal
saddle, the nose hammers my inner thighs.  Thus "The Seat", bad as it
is for anything else, is pretty good for this particular bike.  But it
is smooth across the top, and the ones you linked to are not.  I
imagine that these others would likely prove to be lousy at the one
single thing I have found my dumb noseless saddle to be okay for.

What else can I say except, "have you considered a recumbent?"

No I hadn't considered a recumbent and after a quick Google am not
considering - just doesn't appeal safety, frame of mind (reminds me
of an armchair), money etc

I'd looked at 'The Seat' - the talking add almost had me clicking
the close button - my medical condition (damaged ligaments not
farmers) means I need a seat sans the middle bit so as to deliver no
pressure in that area at all.
So the 'The Seats' not good for me.

The lack of a seat 'nose' I haven't found to be for the type of
riding I'm doing a problem - as little road as possible, mainly
track & trail

Thanks for the thoughts though

I have an easyseat and an easyseat II. I enjoy the original easyseat
more...it's more comfortable, cheaper, has better padding and even more
sturdy. I got mine because of health concerns.

You can get them at many different places like:
http://painfreecycling.com
http://hobsonseats.com
http://ebay.com

Hope that helps,
Mike
