Was browsing on ebay and came up with glowing shoelaces... which turn
out to be a little battery pack and some clear solid plastic tube.
You hook the tube to the pack, turn it on, and you get red glowing
plastic tube!  Solid, slow flash, fast flash.  One set is now on the

On Saturday I rode from Logue Brook Dam down to Collie
(92km) on the Mundabiddi trail. has anyone else here ridden
any parts of the Mundabiddi? The stop at Yarra is really nice,
also the big tree section just out from Worsley. I was the first

My 13year old son is interested cycling and would like to attend a try out
or open day with a view to entering road races for kids, does such a thing
exist as I have no connections with cycling and would like to know where to

Honk if you support cyclists31 Oct 2006 01:22 GMT26
Riding home yesterday on Arden St (North Melbourne) a friendly P-plater
driving a white Laser gave me a nice honking because he could wait the
30m of bridge to overtake.  I thought I was going to be part of a road
rage incident (although I would avoid conflict personally) but ...

TT bars30 Oct 2006 21:00 GMT9
I can understand the science and see the reasons for TT bars when riding a
TT - but why do triathletes use them?  Is it a triumph of the laws of
marketing rather than the laws of physics?
Cyclaire pump30 Oct 2006 14:04 GMT13
Anyone used one of these - http://cyclaire.net/?
The latest Bicycling Australia Magazine reckons they're good for 120psi
after a couple of minutes of pumping and just $50 or $60.00 depending on
whether you want one with a case or not.

Ok, so it wasn't as fast as the times posted on cycle2max by Gpl an
JonoL recently... quite a lot slower actually. It was cold at th
bottom of the hill and got colder as I went up. Snow was piled up o
both sides of the road near the summit and some kids were playin
So when is run-out time...??30 Oct 2006 04:09 GMT9
In that other thread (you know, the super-inflammatory one about
Giants...), mention was made about how much cheaper some
bikes are during the run-out time, just before the next year's models
hit the stores.
Chain29 Oct 2006 23:42 GMT6
I have an 8 speed SORA road bike used for commuting. After having clocked up
about 4,000 to 4,500 km the bike has no problems with skipping cogs,
changing gears, or too many noises, but the chain has reached the point
