There is a new Performance store moving in right across the freeway from
my office.  Should I be happy?
PC-48 Bye Bye!30 Jun 2007 03:29 GMT2
Broke my second SRAM PC-48 bike chain yesterday coming home
from work.  Broke the previous one about 2 months ago I
think.  Ironically, the first broken PC-48 occurred climbing
a hill on the way to work and yesterday, the PC-48 broke
Judging cyclist's competency by their outfit29 Jun 2007 19:56 GMT52
Today I was dropping off my daughter at the horse barn, which happens to be
situated on one of the most popular recreational cycling routes in the
country. (I know, as I ride it often...) As I was waiting to turn left off
this road I saw two cyclists coming toward me.  One of ...

Just picked up an old Miyata from a neighbor. I'm trying to figure out which
model and which year this is. Any ideas?
The frame has an old repaint job, right over the decals, but there is a

I'm 20 years old, 145 Lbs, 6 foot tall.

few months ago.
Grousing about ride leaders28 Jun 2007 23:15 GMT14
A few questions about club ride leaders.
It seems to me that complaining publicly to the ride leader during a ride is
occasionally appropriate. I can think of two general sets of issues:

today must be Massive Bike Failure Day28 Jun 2007 22:34 GMT3
On my way home, a few hundred yards from the office, I managed to
get my shoelace stuck in the chain.  Somehow it managed to rip
the front derailer out of position.  I was able to limp to the
side of the road and cut my shoelace off, then lift up the chain
road cycle recommendation for a newbie28 Jun 2007 19:55 GMT6
Hi, I used to do a bit of mountain biking a few years back but would
like to get into road cycling. At this point I'm considering between a
Specialized Allez and a Giant OC3.
I've found many reviews for the Allez but not any for the OC3, though

My sweetie and I plan on taking our tandem ( Richey Skyliner ) to

September. We have airline tickets to Paris and that's about the
extent of our preparations so far.
Lower back pain28 Jun 2007 18:16 GMT4
Having an issue that I thought someone might be able to help on...
I have an older/used bike that's in very nice shape.  The LBS did a bit
of a fitting when I purchased and the bike feels pretty comfortable.
The bike came with a metallic quill stem, which the LBS guy thought was
Saturday morning sillyness28 Jun 2007 14:38 GMT6
The boys were out early saturday morning, sun not quite up, on a quiet
road in South West Aussie... We had a ute with a bloke in the back
taking some video so it seemed like a good idea to do a bit of motor
pacing behind it. As the pace picked up the group got smaller until
Good Trails in North Georgia28 Jun 2007 14:35 GMT1
My wife and I are heading up to North Eastern Georgia for vacation for
a couple of days. We were planning on doing some pretty serious
ridding but we aren't familiar enough with the area to know where any
good trails are. I found the Chicopee Woods Mountain Bike trails
