Spent some time in the very remote Steens Mountain area of south Oregon last
week.  Stayed at a pack camp at 7200', and hiked around a lot at high
elevations.  You guys who ride high country all the time must get some
serious lungs on you...

I have read almost everywhere that 8" rotor gives you better braking
power than 6.
I do a lot of downhills, although it is just an XC bike. I am thinking
about upgrading

I'm off to Flag early tomorrow AM for three days of singletrack goodness.
The weather is looking good, a bit chillier than So. Cal. but sunny and
clear for the most part.  I'm a bit concerned about the altitude, not having
ridden at over 5,000 feet in a few years, but we'll just ...

They have a rule that I actually like and think makes sense.  On
weekends, it's alternating use.  Even for MTB and odd days for hikers.

exercise so I don't need anything special - just the ability to go from

I replaced my rear Hayes Hydraulic disc pads. Everything went fine,
exept afer I installed
my wheel back, it can hardly turn, because the gap between the new pads
seems to be too small.

I bought new giro e2 helmet and I don't know how to detach visor!? Is this
