Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Man28 Sep 2006 14:43 GMT27
I have just recently looked in on this newsgroup AB and did not bother to
look at anything previously posted since as far as I can tell everyone on
this group seems to be an idiot. However, allow me to express an opinion on
your patron saint, Steve Irwin.
Ware a Hemlet!28 Sep 2006 01:34 GMT1
Sure! Helmets are a good idea to ware on any bike.  I alway ware one.  I
don't care if there is a law or not!
But! They get far to much attention, too many folks think thay are "the most
important safety item"  NO! NOT HARDLY!  SAFETY is pretty much about how you
Headrest help27 Sep 2006 00:59 GMT3
I need ergonomic information & pictures about the headrest position,
distance to the head, angle, etc in a recumbent trike and bike.
Anyone have them?
Riding a bicycle in traffic26 Sep 2006 03:11 GMT57
Since there seem to have been quite a few (cross)posts about the safety
of riding a bicycle in traffic, I thought this video [1] on the topic
would be instructional.

Is a bent good for this?25 Sep 2006 04:58 GMT5
I know recumbents are good if you have a bad back.  My wife recently
"shattered" her kneecap and it will be a long recuperation.  Would a
recumbent be any easier on the knee than a traditional road bike?
Thanks in advance... Bob
9/11...5th Anniversary24 Sep 2006 20:41 GMT34
OK, granted this is off topic, but this is not just any ordinary day.
Besides much of what is posted here is off topic, right Mr. Dolan???
Today is the 5th anniversay of a date that few will ever forget.  Most
will recall exactly where they were and what they were doing when their
Strategy for getting SWB up the stairs.24 Sep 2006 00:16 GMT42
I just got an apartment with a great location in Princeton but it has a
rather steep set of stairs to negotiate, and no way to keep the bike on
the lower floor.  I have a RANS VREX.  I was wondering if anyone has a
simple strategy or device to get the bike easily up and down the ...

Anyone know of any trailers designed specifically for trikes?

Lower crankset for Giro 20.18 Sep 2006 23:17 GMT10
I just ordered a Giro 20. I have a few weeks before it gets here, they
ran out of 2006s. One concern I have is the crankset. It comes with a
52-42-30 crankset. I want to be able to climb hills and I don't mind
sacrificing top end. Shimano has a 26-36-48 crankset. It's an LX M581
atomBOLT FWD Recumbent High Racer Design18 Sep 2006 20:37 GMT2
Here is a new design I have been working on for about a 1/2 year now. I
call it the atomBOLT. The atomBOLT is a no-weld recumbent high racer
style bike, that uses MBB (moving bottom bracket) FWD. Goals were low
cost, no weld, easy to build. The design achieves those goals. If you
Mounting Lights outside of fairing18 Sep 2006 13:28 GMT7
For some years now I have been using the Nite Hawk Dual headlight
system mounting the lamps directly on the handlebar and diminished in
effectiveness by a Zipper fairing.  Over the years I have seen photos
of lights being mounted in front of the fairing.  I would really
my trike17 Sep 2006 13:44 GMT3
After I got hit by a car I re-built my Easy-3 and went with 26" wheels
in the rear and a 20" wheel in the front; I have my reasons.  After some
months I've noticed that my rear wheels now need to be re-trued (?).  So
now I'm thinking I'd like to lose the spokes all together and go ...
Pictures17 Sep 2006 12:43 GMT51
Is there any alt.binaries.recumbent? can I  post pictures here?
It is OK to post to ARBR! 15 Sep 2006 14:47 GMT83
ARBR is an interesting newsgroup because it is such a small group. A
newsgroup like RBM (rec.bicycles.misc) is far less interesting because it is
such a large group. No one ever gets to know anyone much on such a large
group. Members come and go without any rhyme or reason. ...
