Today I aligned the rear dropouts on a beater bike, that someone had pinched together trying to install a too-narrow hub using skewer pressure. Well, the skewer snapped, and when a suitably spaced hub was found later it didn't want to seat properly, tightening one axle nut

I have been bike-surfing quite a bit recently (still looking for new touring cyclocross bike) and it seems that whenever I see older model it is cheaper and has better components.

I'll be getting my new rims for the Dew tomorrow. They'll be drilled for Presta. But I've got a Black & Decker and I ain't scared to use it. I know this is a much covered issue, but it's winter, and I wanna see stoles flying and skull caps ripped off.

I'm taking apart a 1985 Trek I recently purchased and I'm wondering if the uneven wear pattern I'm seeing on the headset fixed races is telling me the ends of the head tube aren't parallel. The crown race and the two fixed head tube races are all showing

Just got a new pair of Vredestein Fortezza, 28", 700x25c, 160psi tires for my road bike. I found some unused tubes from an older bike in my bike box. The box says they are 700x35-38C/27x1/34".

is it possible to fit a pair of 2002 rock shox boxxer forks to my 2004 marin wolf ridge bike which now has a chris king headset? i know some people will say don't, but i just want to know whether it would be possible and whether it would be difficult to do.

Have been having problem with shifting reliably on to one particular cog at the rear end... 50% of time it will just "clatter" unless I make an extra big sweep of the lever... it is not cassette-specific and having swapped out the rear derailer have found it is not ...
