| Water Bottle Cage Mount Screws: M4 or M5? | 28 Feb 2010 20:41 GMT | 46 |
I want to order some, but can't figure out the nomenclature. They measure just a hair under 5 mm, but take a 4mm Allen key. So I guess they're either "m4" or "m5"... but which?

| Tacoma to Seattle or Bust! | 28 Feb 2010 03:38 GMT | 6 |
How bad were early roads on the West Coast? "The first man to ride [stretching a point] a bicycle from Tacoma to Seattle, as far as known, is L. A. Clarke, a Tacoma book-keeper [and president of the Tacoma Cycling Club], who left the Tacoma post office

Here is a link to bicycle makers from before bicycling became big business with $ponsored riders. In the old days, these were poor laborers who recognized their big lungs and a good heart from their commute to work. They were loved by the common folk, the "tifosi":

The original setup was with Centaur triple crank (setup) - I am switching over to a compact crank setup. The original frame had braze on and work fine. But now my setup with compact crank and double (dura ace FD) frt derailleur does not work. Issue: the derailleur

| Borrow a bike | 27 Feb 2010 02:06 GMT | 1 |
Somewhere I thought I read about a website where you could lend/borrow bicycles for people on vacation. Anyone heard of that? I have a friend from England coming to the Phoenix area in March and I'm looking for a road bike he can borrow for a short triathlon. My 60cm

| Planet Bike Cascadia Fenders + SKS Safety Clips? | 27 Feb 2010 00:21 GMT | 2 |
I love my Planet Bike Cascadia Fenders, the extra long mud flap keeps my shoes nice and clean (along with my chain). But I'm worried I'll go over the bars while off-roading due to errant sticks/cans/etc. The SKS fenders have a safety clip that allows the fender to break away in

| Weird SRAM S60 wheel question | 26 Feb 2010 17:14 GMT | 10 |
I've got a used S60 rear wheel (just got it)...there's something weird with the freehub and possibly the dishing. The whole wheel (both rim and freehub body) seem to be shifted over several mm to the left (non-drive side). I downloaded the service

| question of weight on a bike | 26 Feb 2010 03:28 GMT | 87 |
I am not an engineer but I gather lighter bikes help climbing but what about on the flats. In other words I ride around the flatlands here no real hills a few ups over the bridges, does weight become almost non issue within reason.

As y'all know, in addition to steady dynamo lights (BUMM Cyo and D'Toplight) on day and night, I also run white forward and red rear flashing lights on day and night as attention attractors, as bike identifiers.

| Improve Bicycles through Racing | 25 Feb 2010 15:28 GMT | 137 |
This subject arises now and then when someone buys an expensive bicycle believing that it is the best technology can offer. This is often incorrect in the age of marketing in which inordinate sums are spent to create a suitable image for a product. Toyota cars come to
