Cycle Parking at Halls of Residence30 Sep 2008 17:12 GMT25
We're trying to build a case for a good level of cycle parking at a halls
of residence.  Does anyone have any experience of the proportion of

would like to own cycles?
new toy30 Sep 2008 14:28 GMT7
I have a new toy, an iPhone 3G.  So I have downloaded TrailGuru,
which is SFP, and I'll see if that works.
Maybe the GPS thingy will work, too, and I'll be able to get to and
from Bikefix without going via Brentford.

Islabikes new range30 Sep 2008 11:43 GMT202
Islabikes have updated their range of children's bikes.
The main changes I can see are:
the Beinn 26 comes in large and small frame versions;
the triple front chainring on the Beinn 26 has been replaced by a
Crapman Is A MURDERER By Proxy30 Sep 2008 11:04 GMT4
If someone campaigns for policies which they know to be killing
people, and their campaigning contributes to the implementation of
that policy, then I don't think any sane person would disagree that
they are therefore a murderer by proxy.  Saddam and Hitler may never

Pleasant ride out to the theatre last night.  Locked up, took off all
lights and mileometer and went in to enjoy the concert (Marty Wilde,
if you're interested).
Came out afterwards and found just my lock, neatly cut.  No bike

As i was riding home last night, my computer came adrift from its clip

"False Dilemma"30 Sep 2008 09:06 GMT21
A while ago, Chapman refused to answer the following question,
claiming that it was a "false dilemma":
"Which would bother you more: a cyclist being decapitated by piano
wire, or a motorcyclist being decapitated by piano wire?"
Quick Question30 Sep 2008 03:54 GMT2
If someone was to go onto a newsgroup or forum, and show that one or
more of the opinions held by the majority of the regulars were wrong,
how do you think the regulars would be more likely to react?

Stealing From Motorists, Yet Again30 Sep 2008 03:49 GMT7
I'm sure the trolls will be really outraged by this, and by
"outraged", I mean experiencing such a surge of spiteful pleasure that
they'll probably be w.nking off while reading it (except that they
won't be too happy about the prison sentence bit...they think that
M48 cyclepath29 Sep 2008 21:07 GMT54
Be warned: motorcycles on cycle path.
The Severn Bridge, the first one, is closed for maintenance, apart from the
cycle path.  Motorcycles under 50cc are allowed on the cycle path, since
they are not allowed on the main carriageway, which is motorway.  This

Replacing a wheel into a frame the other day I must have somehow kinked the
gear indicator chain as it was jammed solid inside it's tube.  I removed the
nut to release the chain, but the chain came away with the nut, leaving the
indicator rod still screwed into the hub with no ...
'Do not feed the . . .' threads29 Sep 2008 20:12 GMT11
There has been some discussion as to whether the 'Do not feed. . . '
responses are annoying for those of us who have already kf'd the
original trolls.
Can I suggest that likes of Tim and '_' use separate 'troll stopper' IDs

that you have taken to doing recently, then I will start doing the
