Bicycle Wheel Building Workshop - Cambridge - 6 Mar 201013 Feb 2010 21:05 GMT58
The details of the next Bicycle Wheel Building Workshop I will
be running are as follows:
Date:        Sat 6 Mar 2010
Time:        10am-5pm
Even more dangerous cars allowed on our roads?13 Feb 2010 19:40 GMT35
Is this just the tip of a very nasty iceberg? Why are they not banned
from use?
"A number of Toyota drivers in the United States and Japan have

Is this vulnerable dead cyclist blameless?13 Feb 2010 17:07 GMT26
A question for motorists on this NG.
"A 70-year-old cyclist has died following a collision in Surrey.
Police said Joseph Telford was cycling down Woodlands Lane in
Windlesham, towards Chobham, at about 1000 GMT on Sunday when the
Vintage Cycling Posters13 Feb 2010 14:39 GMT1
Some months back there was some talk about old cycing posters. About half down
this link there's a few vintage TdF posters.

Another ramming incident on the last-nights Critical Mass London     ride.13 Feb 2010 09:59 GMT50
Reported by email.
"Hi there just wondering if this can be published in any way?
So on the ride up through Camden some guy went totally mental and
decided to drive totally erratic and dangerous before targeting and
psycholist wearing a spur13 Feb 2010 02:36 GMT62
This morning I passed a psycholist in the 'primary position'
(so-called, but not in the Highway Code, we all know) so I had to cut
close. I saw him stick his leg out and heard some scraping - the
bastard was wearing something like a spur for scratching cars.
Proof that URC Car-Haters Won't Admit when they're Proven Wrong11 Feb 2010 10:34 GMT1

We all knew it went on anyway, but the above is the clearest evidence
yet that when a URC car-hater is beaten and conclusively shown to be
wrong about something, they will simply call the proof "crap" and will
A second ramming witness, aka victim!10 Feb 2010 09:04 GMT22

More evidence of deliberate ramming.10 Feb 2010 08:48 GMT25
I am often criticised by motorists on this newsgroup for not having
evidence that motorists sometimes deliberately ram cyclists on
Critical Mass rides. Well here is yet another example which I proffer
as evidence. More later.
Tyre height10 Feb 2010 02:04 GMT11
I'm trying to figure out the thickest marathons I can get in my frame. I
checked the shwalbe site but could only find a 'maximum diameter' for MTB
tyres. I'm looking at 700x32 but would prefer 700x35 if I can get them in.
Anyone know of a table with their full pressure ...
Why Don't the Car-Haters Concentrate on Improving Public Transport?09 Feb 2010 13:05 GMT4
What is the point in continually trying to make motorists' lives a
misery with speed cameras, lowered speed limits, lane theft, draconian
parking enforcement and all the other anti-car measures when the
majority of drivers don't (despite the assertions of the likes of
Very dangerous cars are allowed on our roads.08 Feb 2010 11:05 GMT184
Is it any wonder that so many get killed and injured on our roads, and
such a serious threat is posed to cyclists, when this sort of thing is
allowed to happen on our roads, due to a widespread car design fault?
Why are they not all banned until the fault is fixed? I suppose we can

1. *You* were the one who said "nearly 30" (

Caring about the Truth?06 Feb 2010 17:06 GMT9
Say you were shown incontrovertible, easily demonstrable, easily
comprehensible proof that speed camera policy killed thousands of people
a year and had zero benefits to society (and no, "making things harder
for motorists" is not a benefit).  Say you were the only one who was
Another reason for Critical Mass?06 Feb 2010 00:23 GMT14
As I always point out, there are many reasons for Critical Mass rides.
"Crash victim organizes bicyclist rally
Now, the 21-year-old Wausau woman is organizing a Critical Mass group
bicycle ride to call attention to the intersection's dangers and to
